Junk Percussion Techniques
Junk Percussion Techniques is the second course in the Junk Percussion series for years 5 and 6 students and supports students to develop rhythmic skills. Specifically, students are introduced to a series of tutorials and practice activities including instrument handling, simple musical notation and fundamental drumming patterns. Through the lesson series, students practice keeping tempo to prepare them to work effectively as part of a whole group ensemble.
This course has been designed around instruments created in the Making Junk Percussion course including the bass drums, snare drums, shakers and bells. Standard classroom instruments can also be used.
Once students have mastered these fundamental skills, they can extend their percussion skills further by completing the Junk Percussion Song One course.
