Sambaesque

Sambaesque is the fourth course in the Junk Percussion series for years 5 and 6 students and extends student learning through exploration of a South American Samba rhythm.

The course provides step by step tutorials and musical scores for each instrument part and builds on the fundamental techniques and musical notation understandings covered in the Junk Percussion Techniques and Song One courses. Through the lesson series students consolidate their understanding of tempo and rhythm and perform their song to an audience.

This course has been designed around instruments created in the Making Junk Percussion course including the bass drums, snare drums, shakers and bells. Standard classroom instruments can also be used.

Once students have mastered these fundamentals skills, they can extend their percussion skills by completing the Junk Percussion Techno course.
