    Add Sound To Your Animation

    Years 1-8, Secondary
    A sound score is a track of sound effects and music that accompanies a film or animation. A Foley artist brings the moving image to life by creating this track. Learning what a  Foley artist does is the first step in creating your own sound score. Next, follow the steps, which show how to use a collection of found objects to create a fun and interesting sound score to bring a stop motion animation to life.

    Head back to the 'golden era' of radio drama. Develop your performance skills using voice and sound and apply this to the style of radio drama. Explore the history of the genre, how radio advertising works and how a program is structured. Discover how your sound can enhance a performance by getting on the airwaves.

    Explore the environment around you to identify, collect and record sounds using a digital recording device. As you will find, music can be created from some very unexpected sounds.

    This resource helps students develop their songwriting ability and a deeper understanding of the role of the music industry in supporting and marketing musicians. Performance footage from the Bush Bands Bash Festival and interviews with contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander bands, Rayella and Yipirinya School Band are used as a stimulus to explore different cultural perspectives.
